North
Warwickshire Community Partnership - About Us
The
North Warwickshire Community Partnership is comprised of representatives
of local government, the police, health, education bodies, businesses,
voluntary and community organisations.
Set
up in 2000, North Warwickshire was the first district in Warwickshire
to establish this kind of partnership, co-ordinating actions to
improve local quality of life and to steer the development of the
first Community Plan produced 2001, updated one year later.
The
North Warwickshire Community Partnership is responsible for delivering
the Community Plan and does so by seeking to influence the way partners
plan, and deliver services.
The
Partnership provides the umbrella for local partnerships and an
effective means of co-ordination. It will also provide the framework
for the production of the Community Plan document. The Community
Plan will provide a long-term vision for the area with a shared
commitment to carry out an action plan for the District.
The
partnership has made a good start by arranging its partnerships
around the promotion of social, economic and environmental well
being. It is already advanced especially in regard to partnerships,
which are proving successful in tackling a number of local issues.
These include:
- Community
Life
- The
Local Economy
- The
Environment
- Health
& Well-being
- Education
and Lifelong Learning
- Safer
Communities
- Transport
- Young
People
A
review of partnership arrangements has taken place in 2003 to ensure
the way it conducts its business is effective and able to succeed.
Retaining partners or bringing in new partners when necessary is
important in maintaining the common purpose of the partnership.
All
members of the North Warwickshire Community Partnership endorse
the objectives of the Community Plan and are committed to its successful
implementation.

Decisions
Statutory
agencies come:
to
be better informed
to
be influenced to understand how the voluntary, community and business
sectors could contribute.
Voluntary,
community and business sectors come:
to inform
to influence
to positively
challenge statutory agencies.
All
partners need to be clear, honest and realistic about what is open
to change.
